HOTELS IN NAPIER

LICENSES MAY BE REFUSED. NAPIER, Dec. 7. Mr Mowlern, S.M., chairman of the Napier Licensing Committee expressed dissatisfaction to-day, with the progress of the rehabilitation of the Napier hotels destroyed by the quake and fire. “We seem to bp up against an undamaged brick wall, as not one brick has been placed on another towards rebuilding thc Masonic, Criterion, Provincial and Central hotels,” he said. He adjourned the annual meeting till the next quarter, when the committee will be faced with the possibility of refusing licenses to the hotels named, if nothing has been done.
