XMAS PICTURE SHOWS
A GOOD IDEA AT CHRISTCHURCH (Ter Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, December 8. The City Council decided to—nignt, in dealing with the request of the picture theatre proprietors to show films on Christmas Day, that a small sub-Committee should confer with the theatre proprietors to asertain. if they were prepared to show pictures of a religious character suitable to phristmas, and if they would contribute a reasonable percentage of the takings to the Mayor’s Relief of Distress Fund. Th 0 subject is to be discussed again by the Council nextt Monday.
