BOXING

PALMER V. O’MALLEY, “TIGER” TOO GOOD. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 7. Ambrose Palmer, the middleweight boxing champion of Australia, lived up to his nickname of “Tiger” at the Winter Show Stadium, to-night, when he gave Jack O’Malley, the heavyweight champion of the Commonwealth a boxing lesson. The contest went the full fifteen rounds, bur there was only one man in it, and Palmer, boxing cleverly, won practically every round. Though only weighing 11 st 111 b to O’Malley’s 12st 101 b, Palmer did most of the leading ,and early opened a gash over O’Malley’s right eye, with a left hook O‘Malley was far too slow. It was a disappointing display for two Australian title-holders.
