MID-CANTERBURY SEAT Defeat MR. CONNOLLY’S MAJORITY INCREASED. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, December 7. The result of the official count for the Mid-Cantorbury seat is as follows:— Mr J. Connolly (Ind.C.U.) 4437 Hon. D. Jones (Coal.R.) .. 4301 Mr H. Hunter (I.Lab) .. 310 Mr Wightman (Ind.) . .. 258 Informal ~ 67 Of the absentee and postal votes, 282 went to Mr Connolly and 251 went to Mr Jones. GISBORNE SEAT. LABOUR MAJORITY INCREASED. GISBORNE, December 7. The official recount for the Gisborne seat increases Mr Colemen’s majority from 234 to 310.
