POISONING CASE
Man at Detective’s Office MYSTERY AT CHRISTCHURCH. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, November 8. William John McCausland, a labourer, aged 34, married, died from poisoning in the detective office at Christchurch, on Saturday afternoon. McCausland, was being questioned by a detective, when he complained of feeling seedy. The interview was then discontinued, and McCausland was given food and a cup of tea. After this, he complained of feeling ill, and he was rushed to the hospital, where he died at 3.40 p.m. An inquest was opened to-day, and was adjourned. The Coroner ordered a post mortem and an analysis of the dregs °f the tea cup.
