BOWLING

BUNANGA CLUB. OPENING OF SEASON. — Th« Runanga Bowling Club held, their official opening on the green on i Saturday in boisterous weather. The President, Mr F. G. Pope, bowled up the kitty and the first bowl. He said he was sorry that the inclemency of the weather prevented play that day, but trusted that the season would be a most successful one. Letters were received from several clubs expressing their best wishes for a successful season. After the official opening all adjourned to the pavilion, where afternoon tea was served. This was followed by card games and a discussion by budding champions on how the game of bowls should be played.
