CRICKET
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A special meeting of the Management Committee of the West Coast Cricket Association was held on Saturday evening, Mr J. Patterson presidihg over an attendafice of the following members: Messrs H. S. Nightingale, H. Ogilvie, W. Hodge, W. Sandman. W. Barlow, D. Kennedy, Rev. Brother Egbert and the Secretary, Mr C. Restieaux.
The deputation which waited on representatives of the Greymouth Trotting Club relative to the use of wickets at Victoria Park this season, reported that the club was prepared to rent the Park to the Association at a yearly rental of £l5. It was decided that the Association was not in a position to pay the rental asked,'and that the Trotting Club be advised accordingly. A lengthy discussion took place cm the question of grounds, and it wais finally decided that all clubs' make their own arrangements for home grounds. On the grounds that the Association had no power to limit the time of am innings, it was decided to rescind the motion passed at the annual meeting, I that the hours of play be divided equally between the two teams. The motion, passed at the annual meeting, wherein it was stated that all fixtures must be finalised on the day on which they were set down, was rescinded, but notice was received of a motion to the same effect as that which was rescinded. The Fixtures Committee was elected as follows: Messrs Patterson, Nightingale and the Secretary.
