(Received September 24 at 11.35 p.m.) SYDNEY’, September 24. Air-Commodore Kingsford Smith has hopped off from Wyndham for England Op his record-breaking Australia to England and return flight. When he left, he and his machine were in great heart. ’ lie told the Onlookers that he would be back in eighteen days. The weather conditions were perfect for his objective to-day, which was Cheribou, in Java. It is a 1532 miles hop. Kingsford Smith passed over Bali at one p.m. local time. U.S.A. Airship MAIDEN VOYAGE. — (Received September 24 at 8.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 23. News froi i, Akron states that the U.S.A. Navy’s new dirigible “Akron,” said to be the largest airship of its kind in the world, has completed her maiden voyage of 125 miles in 33 hours four minutes. She had 129 naval men on board.
