ON THE MEND. (Per Press Association). ' WELLINGTON, August 18. I The following further telegram wSs received by the Governor-General last evening from the British Ambassador at Tokio:—“The Vice-Consul has now returned to Kobe, and reports that Mr Chichester’s eye, also a bruised bone in his right forearm, and bruisek on the vertebrae be’ween his shoulder blades are causing him some nain. The wound in the thigh is healing. The doctors contemplate complete recovery in three weeks. Mr Chichester told the Vice-Consul that he was very comfortable, and that he did not wish to be moved.
