WELLINGTON, August 10. Sale: Bank of N.Z. 48s 9d. EUROPEAN COAL OUTLOOK. LONDON, August 9. Mr Devereux, the Australian Yjpol Council’s representative, reports:- — Bradford market featureless/ Topmakers? prices firm and unchanged. The result of the ballot amongs*- the workers indicates that a stoppage is unlikely. The sales of tops to Germany was less ,than half the normal quantity. Prices of merino tops are unchanged. With the resumption of work at the mills, and the factories in Northern France, *a more active market prevails there. Fair sales of tops for local spinners’ requirements, with, prices unchanged. Export of tops to other Continental countries is practically at a standstill owing to the financial situation. Reports from Belgium indicate that wool values remain steady, despite the existing difficulties.
