ABANDONED BABY

In Dying State FOUND AT EMPTY HOUSE. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, July 27. When looking through ap unoccupied house in Cashel Street yesterday’ afternoon, a woman was shocked to find the naked a.nd apparently lifeless body -of a female infant lying on the floor of the lavatory. Th© police were summoned, and also Dr. Gould. Th(c doctor said the child wa s alive, but resuscitation had to be carried on for an hour and a-half- The child is now in the hospital and is progressing favourably. The police have no clue as to fbe identity of the mother.
