MARQUEE MISSION
On Thursday night the Marquee was full to hear Evangelists Hiurichsen and Morris. The missioner gave an address upon “Mother.” He maintained that the future welfare of our country is dependent upon the character of the mothers. He said it seemed to be true, as the mother, so the child; as tin* child, so the home; as the home, so the church; as the church, so the na- . t»on, adding, “Righteousness alone exI alts a nation, while sin is a reproach to any people!” To the young people he would say: Honour thy mother! She < has been through the school of experience. Consider thy morher. Of all people she is the most unselfish. A young man may say: “If I do visit her she does not talk much.” but she can remember a time when you did not talk much! Perhaps she does talk of her grievances, but she can remember a time when you ran to her with every , ailment for the first twelve years of your life. Mother’s advice is usually , good. Many a young man is having what he calls “the time of his life,” but he does not realise that it is costing his mother her life. She had the fondest hopes, and highest aspirations, concerning him. Now her sacrifices are being rewarded by the shame and sorrow and heartaches which he brings into her life. One mother said “When they are young ithey make your hands ache, when they grow up they make | your heart ache! ” !
