Another exciting game for the Reefon Bowling Club’s “Buttons” took laic yesterday afternoon on the local rccn. The challengers were Messrs V. ,I<>r’ (skip) and D. Mines, and the elders Messrs J. Hawthorn /skip) and .chofiold. The play throughout was erv even and the bowling goo'l. With wo heads to go. At a meeting of the Reefton Jockey Club last evening, Air E. W. Spencer (President), in the chair, it was resolved to make a donation of the sum of £2/2/- towards the cost of laying down a new cricket pitch on Rcefton Racecourse. Tin* statement of accounts in connection with the recent meeting submitted by the secretary, showed a satisfactory cred’t balance, which was received as entirely satisfactory and approved. The annual meeting of the Reefton Library Committee was held at the Readino’ Room last evening, when there was a good attendance of members. Mr 11. Cooper presided. The balance sheet for the year was submitted and approved, and the retiring Committee, Messrs P. 11. Instone, W. Gore Porter, IL Walselcben, E. W. Spencer, J. B. Auld, and H. Cooper, were re-elected. The last named was also re-appointed Chairman.
