THE “REC.”
. (To the Editor) Sir.—From reports in the press of I the Rugby and Lea.gue meetings, there j seems to be triouble in coming to an I agreement in regard to the allocation of dates' to each code to play on the Recneation Ground. The Soccer represcntative s seem to have kept a still tongue, whiich donates a wise head. I don’t see where we need to have trouble, as there is plenty of support for all codes in GTeymouth. League play their games on a Sunday, so why [ are they holding out for a number of Saturdays on the Recreation Ground when, perhaps, the other codes, could | be playing a senior fixture. If the j League want the ground for schoolboy’s fixtures, would it not b<? as easy to play thenT in the morning, so that the ground would be free In the afteT-1 noon:? Of course, I am not penning this letter in a biasfid spirit, for Rugby, Longue and Soceifi*!- always gets a bob in turn from me, and I should like to see a more “give and take” spirit among our spcrtipg fraternity. I tiust that all consider the game is the thiing whatever their code may be., I see that a.n independent Chairman has been elected and I trust that the said gentleman will take notice of this letter, as we all -want to see a sr'nior game of some sort on the Recreation Ground on a Saturday afternoon. I am etc., ALL SPORTS.
