Irregular Sales i i ( AT ADDINGTON YESTERDAY. (Special to Argus). CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. The tendency of live stock prices at ; the Addington sale to-day was lower. < but the market was quite irregular. The . ; sale is reviewed as follows by Messrs H. Matson and Co.— I' Store lambs ■were forward in smaller 1 f numbers. The best fine wools made up to late rates. Inferior and backward lots were irregular. Store wethers met a steady sale at 1 late rates. The ewes comprised main- i ly small lots, from distant localities, | 1 ami met an irregular market. There was a large yarding of fat J sheep, mixed in quality. All grades were 1 on a lower basis by about 1/6 per head. Extra heavy wethers sold up to 17/10, j prime 14/- to 16/-, medium 11/6 to 13/6, [ light 9/- to 11/-, inferior from 7/6. Extra heavy ewes sold up to 14/10, | prime 10/6 to 12/-. medium 8/6 to 10/-, light 6/6 to 8 , inferior from 4/6. I 'There was ;l large yarding of fat I lambs, very mixed in quality, but some especially good lines were forward. There was an irregular sale, with a do- | cline in medium sorts. Extra prime . lambs sold to 20/4, prime 15/3 to 17/-. ( medium 14/- to 15/-, light 11/3 to 13/6. j inferior from 9/6. < There was a full yarding of beef/ with the greater percentage of steers of ; mixed quality. Medium and plain sorts were hard to quit. Extra heavy steers sold to £l7/12/6, prime £l2 to £l4/5/-, medium £9 to £lO/10/-, plain from £7. : extra heavy heifers to £l2/12/6. prime £7/5/- to £B/15/-, medium £4/5/- to £6/5/-, best cows to £ll/2/6, prime £6 ' 10/- to £7/15/-, medium £4/10/- to £3 15/-, inferior from 37/6. Then* was a medium yarding of fat . pigs. Pork was on a par with late ’ rates, and bacon was easier. Values were: Porkers 38/- to 42/6, larger 44/6 to 47/6. choppers from £3, baroners’ 48/6 t° 58/6, heavier £3 to £3/10/-. *
