£500,000 IN FOR IRISH ONE. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received Feb. 28 at 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. February 28. The Irish National Sweepstake exceeds half a million sterling. The Directors announce that even if the prize money reaches one million sterling, thus giving as the first prize three hundred thousand, nevertheless the present prize schedule must be retained ENGLISH SWEEP. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, February 28. It has been decided that in the event of the Derby Sweep reaching a million, ten names will be drawn against each horse, giving approximately three thousand substantial prizes.
