CUSTOMS The customs reveuuc collected at the Grey mouth Customhouse during the month of February was £1623/U>/4, in comparison to £2542/16/7 for the corresponding month of 1930, which represents a large decrease of £919/1/3.

For the corresponding month last year the. total fall was 3.30 inc.l4e s over a period of seven days, the heaviest fall for any one day being 1.70 inches on February 23. SHIPPING RETURNS. The shipping returns for the port of Greymouoh for February are as follows:—lnward vessels 18, with an aggregate tonnage of 10,947 tons; Outward vessels 19, with an aggregate tonnage of 12,277 tons. DUNEDIN RETURNS. DUNEDIN, March 1. The vital statistics for Dunedin district for February were as follows, last year’s February figures being given in parentheses:—Births 135 (110), deaths 68 (69), marriages 45 (54). I he Customs returns for the Dunedin tor the month of February show a decrease of over £4,000 on th efigures for the same period last year. Beer duty decreased to the extent of over £B,OOO.
