TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH. Some well-known singers and inst-i--mentalists will appear before lYA’s microphone this evening. Mr Reg. Morgan will present a group of ballads, 1 including two fisherfolk songs. Miss3s Edna and Phyllis Tye will be heard in vocal and piano numbers, whilst the items by Miss Nellie Lingard (contralto) will include “The Songs my Mot her Sang ■’ and “Little Boy Blue.” Among the items by the Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Harold Baxter, will be Myddleton’s “Irish Memories’’ and the suite “ L ’Arlesicnne ’ ’ (by Bisct). Miss Phyllis Leighton (soprano) and Miss Nora Greene (contralto) will be the ladies ’ voices heard from 2YA this evening. Miss Greene will sing “The Hills of Donegal,’’ “Ships’’ and “My Ain Folk.’’ Mr Sam Duncan and Mr S. Evelyn Rodger will contribute solos and ducts. Mrs 11. G. Reeves, a clever exponent of the banjo, will play several popular numbers. A light musical programme- will be provided by the Salon Orchestra. The “piece de resistance” of 4YA *s programme, which will be presented by the Dunedin Tramways Band under the ■ direction of Mr Chas. T. Morgan, is a ‘ Scottish rhapsody entitled “Lord of the 1 \lsles. ” Another selection is entitled “Sea Songs,” containing all the most popular ballads of the sea. Amongst 5 vocalists on this programme will 5 be\ Mr Alex Snell (baritone). Mrs D. L Carty will sing two Scottish songs and three fine ballads will be sung by Mrs Doris Aitcheson (contralto). Humour ous .recitations will be given by Miss » E. Newbold. Silpnt day at 3YA.
