BULLER ELECTORATE

CHASM CREEK FOOTBRIDGE. Mr. H. E. Holland, M.P., has received the following letter (2.2.31) from the Minister of Public Works: “Further to my letter of the 10th instant, concerning the item of £725, free, which was included on this year’s Estimates under + he Roads on Goldfields Vote for the construction of t'.e above mentioned footbridge, I have to advise that I have further looked into tiic matter and, having regard to al! the circumstances in connection with the proposal to construct this bridge, 1 have decided to approve authorisation of £350. on account, from the Public Works Roads Vote. Formal authority in this amount has already I eon issued to the Buller County Council, and the balance of the authority v ill be made available at a later date.
