A message was received at Railway Headquarters to-day to the effect that tho evacuation from Napier was urgent, and requesting that all the available cars be sent to Hastings. The Railway Department immediately took steps to have all the available rolling stock despatched. HASTINGS RAILWAY RESTORED. WELLINGTON, February 5. The railway line has been temporarily repaired to Hastings, and traffic is being worked tn that point. Rolling stock from all parts of tho North Island is being assembled at ail available places along the line, in readiness to earn’ out the work of evacuating Napier.
