Bolger finished the *iorning round with five up on the open champion, Frank Eyre. The veteran Dan Souter, was in fine form, while i Arthur Downes caused a sensation with a round equalling seventy. ReI suits:—Downes beat McDonald twelve and eleven; Corry beat Heard 6 and 4; Souter beat "Giles 5 and 3; Bolger beat Eyre 8 and 7; Cates beat Coaen 8 and 7; Campbell beat Ginman 8 and • 7; Gray beat Thompson 5 and 3; Richardson beat Clark 2 and 1.
