EARTHQUAKE FUND

EARLY WINDING UP. (Special to Argus). WELLINGTON, September 10. A question regarding the activities of the Central Earthquake Committee was asked by Mr G. C. Black in the House to-day. Mr Black asked the Acting Prime Minister: “Will the Government arrange for the Central Earthquake Committee to meet at an early date to make arrangements for annuities to widows, and to wind up the administration of the fund?” Mr Sansom replied that the meeting of the Central Earthquake Committee will be arranged at an early date when the question of annuities to widows will be finally dealt with. This matter i 5 at present being considered by a Sub-Committee appointed at the last meeting of the Central Committee. The fund will be wound up as early as possible.
