IJ Experiments carried out by the CawIthron Institute, while emphasising the y great improvement in the yield of pasjture affected by the application of am- ’ monium sulphate, showed that the lime I con tent of the pasture grass was materially decreased by its use. The Institute states that in those cases where naturally a low supply of lime is produced in the soil, the use of ammonium .sulphate through lowering [(lime content of pasture grass might | react unfavourably on the health of Lt be stock. I The verdict that Hilda A. M. Milieu ' was shot dead by her husband. Henrj John Millen, who then shot himself ' was returned at the inquest on the ( victims of the Howick tragedy on Aug 19. During the inquest, two letters were | produced, but not read. The Coroner said that one was a letter from Millen i to his son. There was nothing in the ’ other letter, except the expression of [lan intention to "kill his wife.
