It concerns a fruit can-1 ining factory. The owner has built up; his business step by step, bearing the' l entire responsibility of financing it. His son returns from college ami feel-1 ling that as he is a member of the firm, and should demonstrate fair play! to the employee, endeavours to put the! (business on a profit-sharing basis. Jean’ Hersholt, famous character star, plays ’ the role of Bauer, owner of the fac-1 jtory and father of young Jack Bauer. J [ George Sidney, who enacts the. role of | Kruger, life-long friend of Bauer,; 1 gives one of his inimitable character')-j sations and cluses laughs galore in ] this excellent comedy-drama. George , Lewis as young Jack Bauer and Sha- I Iron Lynn as-his sweetheart have the' juvenile leads ami carry the love in- | terest of the story. t ! “Stairs of Sand” will be screened' lat Sunday night’s picture benefit. The j story has to do with a young dance . hall girl in an Arizona desert town of ! the late 80’s who is loved by two “bad” men of the town. Her struggle to free herself from the power of . their iron wills seems futile, until a (young Easterner appears upon the ' scene, triumphs over the menace, and wins her love-.
