N.S.W. TEACHERS VERSUS MINISTER. (Aus. t»nd N.Z. Cable Assn.) SYDNEY, February 4. The Minister of Education (Mr Drummond) declines t.- hold further official communication;/with the State Public School Teachers’ Federation, owing to the latter’s president (Mr McGuinness) accusing the Government of repudiating a promise to make the teachers’ award retrospective to 1927. The Minister declares no such promise was made. He refuses to recognise the Federation. He says: “Until i appoints as its officers men who may be- expected to confine themselves io fair dealing and truthful statements. ’ ’ Mr McGuinness maintains that the promise was made, and will not retract the accusation.
