At last night’s meeting of the Grey mouth Harbour Board, a motion of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mrs Ogilvie. A Wellington press wire states that the death occurred yesterday afternoon of Rev B. Pitkosky, assistant Rabbi, at the age of 53 years. Mr R. Ogg, of the telegraphic staff of the Ohaupo Post Office, Auckland, with Mrs Ogg and daughter, is on a holiday visit to relatives at Hokitika. The funeral nf the late Mr William Robert Wainman. of Runanga, took place yesterday afternoon at Karoro Cemetery’. A large number of friends attended, and the service at the graveside was conducted by Rev. 11. Noble, of Runanga. A London cable states Sir A. Conan Doyle has practically been confined to _ his room for the past two months. He F strained his heart during a. campaign in Scandinavia. The death took place at 9.30 yesterday morning at the Grey River Hospital of Mrs Ogilvie (senior), of Karoro, widow of Mr William Ogilvie. She was a native of Glasgow (Scotland) and arrived in Port Chalmers in 1875, and had resided in Greyf mouth since. Site leaves two daughters, Mrs Walter Muir, of Wellington, and Mrs John Tennent, of Karoro, and three sons—William and Henry, sawmillers, of Gladstone Siding, and Alex., of Greymouth. A fourth son, George, was killed in France.

Many friends will regret to learn o* the death of Mr August Sundbyc, one of the oldest and most responsible members of the staff of the Dispatch Foundry, in which he held the position of Foreman Boilermaker, and was regarded as a highly efficient tradesman. The deceased, who was in the employ of the Foundry for 45 years, had been ailing for the past month, and his death occurred yesterday afternoon at the Grey Hospital. He was highly esteemed by all who knew him as a man of high character. He leaves a widow and a family of two daughters (Bea trice and Anne) and two sons (Charles and Wilfred). They will have the sym pathy of many friends in their bereavement.
