OPERA HOUSE — TO-NIGHT. A SCREEN EPIC. “MOTHER MACHREE.” Belle Bennett, one of the most popular actresses, is admirably cast for the maternal part in “Mother Machree,” Pox Films’ version of Rida Johnson Young’s song and story of motherlove, which begins a two nights’ run at the Opera House to-nigh,. John Ford, creator of “The Iron Horse,” “3 Bad Men,” and other screen masterpieces, directed the picture. Miss Bennett, who won international fame in “Stella Dallas ” brings to ,his sweetest Irish story a broad human sympathy and mother-love. The Irish scenes are faithfully reproduced, as many of the backgrounds -were filmed in Galway. The cast includes Ethel Clayton, Victor McLaglen. the Captain Flagg of “What Price Glory,” Ted McNamara. Eulalie Jenson and Constance Howard while Philippe De Lacey, one of the most remarkable child actors, is in the role of Brian, son of Mother Machree.
