A “White Elephant' c* INVEHCAEGILL, May 1 It is reported from Bluff that the Bluff Harbour Board's tug “Southland”, which cost approximately £43,OOOfi has been tied up indefinitely. It is stated that the trouble appears to be in tne engines, which have proved unreliable, causing delay or dislocation in the StewUrt Island service. . <
Last ye?* the Stewart Island service cost the Board £4OOO. Th e Southland has been replaced by the old tug “Theresa Ward.”
