Barrytown Meeting. HILL WINS UNDERHAND CHOP. LAMONT TAKES SHEFFIELD. The Barrytown Sports Club held a successful gathering at Barrytown last Saturday afternoon, the weather being ideal, and the public attendance large. The big chop was won by Hill, and the local chop went to N. a Mouatt. while C. Lamo.it. after an exciting fin ish, carried off the Sheffield and the 100 vards handicap. Following are the results: — Local chop: P. Mouatt 1, H. Laugridge 2, W. Ryall 3. 100 yards handicap: C. Lamont (scr) 1. M. Nester (5 yds) 2, T. Ryall (6) 3. Underhand chop. 15 inch: Hill 1, Egorton 2, McDermott 3. Sheffield Handicap, 135 yards: C. Lamont (6 yds) 1, M. Nester (12) 2, R. Jones (9J) 3. A great finish, inches only separating the placed men and C. Robins, th. othe r starter in the final. I Married ladies’ race: Mrs Seebeck and Mrs McDermott, dead heat. I Underhand chop, 13 inch: D. Coulson 1, McDermott 2, Gilsenan 3. Single ladies* race: Miss Howard 1.
