Sixty thousand workers at .the Bombay cotton mills have struck, in response to the call of the Communist Union. Fifty mills arc now idle. Simon Commission. NEEDS POLICE PROTECTION IN LONDON. LONDON, April 27. Elaborate precautions were taken at Victoria Station, London, on the arrival of Sir. John Simon (chairman of he Royal Commission which has just returned from India aftelr taking evidence there on the matter of reform in the system of Government). Two hundred police guarded the platform approaches, and hundreds of men on foot patrolled the street outside. A crowd of agitators attempted to demonstrate, scattering pamphlets and carrying black flags. Some of the flags were inscribed, ‘‘To Heli with Simon! Freedom for India!” Four arrests were made.
