Woman in Surf. NEW BRIGHTON TRAGEDY. CHRISTCHURCH, April 28. The body of Annie Victoria Smith aged 50, unmarried, residing at Hawke Street, New Brighton, was found floating in the surf at New Brighton on Saturday morning. The body was fully clothed and deceased had been in the Widdr only a short time. Tht? deceased left her home on Saturday morning with the expressed intention of going to the city. She nas found dead in the water an hour and a half later. An inquest was opened and adjourned.
