WHEREAS by notice published in the “New Zealand Gazette,” No. 99, of the 9th December. 1920, the Borough of Greymouth and the Town District of Cobden were, pursuant to the provisions of Section 10 (6) of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1908,” declared to be a combined district for the purposes of that Act, notice is hereby given that a poll of the Electors of the said Combined District, will be taken on WEDNESDAY, the Ist day of May, 1929, to determine which working day of the week shall be observed as the statutory closing day within he said Combined District. The Poll will be taken at the Town Hall, Mackay Street (Tower Entrance), the Technical School, High Street (between Sawyer’s Creek Bridge and Franklin Street), Greymouth, the State School, Blaketown, (Gymnasium), and the office of the Cobden Town Board, Fox Street, Cobden, commencing at 9 o’clock in the morning and closing at 7 o’clock at night.
