SOCIALIST VICTORY
DANISH ELECTIONS Will Abolish Army and Navy (Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn). (Received April 26 at 7.15 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, April 26. While the Great Powers were arguing about disarmament, Denmark has made it an election is ue. As the result, the Socialists, in combination with the Radical Liberal Party, have secured seventy-seven seats. All other parties combined have secured sixty-eight seats. The Prime Minis;er, M. Madsen Mygdal, has accordingly tendered his resignation.
It seems certain that the King will ask the Socialist leader, M. Stauning, to form a Cabinet, after which the Socialists will introduce a Bill transforming the Danish Army in;o a police force., and the Danish Navy into coast guards. The Danish Senate is practically certain to reject the Bill. The Socialists will then use administrative means to reduce the national expenditure on armamen s to a minimum.
