Twelve planes participated in the Dominion’s first aerial pageant held at the Manger*' Aerodrome, Auckland, last Saturday afternoon. Pictures of the planes in flight are an outstanding feature in the current issue of the “N;-w Zealand Free Lance,” and these give an excellent idea of the thrills provided by the pilots. The recent floods in Tasmania in which twenty-five people were lost and four thousand others were rendered homeless is another subject to which promi nence is given. Two inter sting panoramas comprise the double page feature. These deal with twenty-five years’ progress on the Wellington waterfront and illustrate the remarkable change that has taken place in the skyline of the Capital City. Of topical interest is the special photograph of Keith Anderson and his mechanic “Bob” Hitehcock, who lost their lives while search ing for the crew of the Southern Cross. The title page is a lifelike portrait of Sir Charles Fbrgusson. whose term as Governor-General is drawing to a close.—Advt.
