When you send stock over to Canterbury we quite realise that on the Coast you have not nil the facilities that are necessary, but undoubtedly all West Coast sheep and lambs should be dipped or sprayed as they look infinitely better. It is always well tc mark the ewes on the shoulder and the wethers on the rump, with all classes, so that they can be easily raced off at this end. In any consignments to be sold as fat stock be sure and not include ram lambs or long tailers. Lambs for rape should be crutched. It is foolish putting a big brand on lambs and sheep—place a neat and attractive dot of two of different coloured bonicord paint so that they will look attractive. Be sure and brand them and let them into an open yard so th°t they do not climb all over one another and smudge the brands and look like ’’nobody’s child” when they get to Addington. If ewes are described as sound mouth, see that they are sound mouth; odds and ends will look after themselves. DO NOT LET ANYBODY DISSUADE TOC OR DIVERT YOU.
