The North Canterbury Hospital Board received to-day from the Trustees of the Travis Bequest the sum of £7OO, to be spJnt on the purchase of radium for the Board ’s radhim and deep therapy this sum being the first payment from the bequest for this purpose. 1 It js not yet known how much will L-J available from the Estate for medical research. It is probable that the income will be divided equally between cancer and tuberculosis res'lairch, and that £lOO represents about half the annual amount that will be available for cancer research. i
