Nt-ws from Derby, W r estralia, states that Pilot Heath, in a Bristol tourer plane, flew to the Southern Cross, on the Flenelg River flat, to-day, with ninety gallons of petrol and foodstuffs. The crew of the Southern Cross are al! eager to take part in the search for Anderson and Hitchcock. Southern Cross Flies FROM THE RIVER TO DERBY. (Reed. lB at 11.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 18. News of Anderson PLANE HEARD ON FRIDAY. NEAR WYNDHAM. SYDNEY, April 18. It is reported at Wyndham that Anderson and the Kookooburra were sd*n and heard a hundred miles south ot Wyndham, on Friday, April 12, The report is not confirmed. The pilot of the air liner Canberra, which is searching for the Kookooburra, Captain Holden, in wirelesa messages from the Canberra, says: Griffiths, his wife and four other men, and thirty natives, all declare they heard Anderson’s aeroplane over Turkey Creek last Friday. Thy rumour is confirmed by the Postmaster at Turkey Creek, who also heard the plane. Thero is plenty of water in the area by the Canberra. The Canberra searched the country almost to Turkey Creek, following rumours, that was seen there. Hofldeu continues the search today.

Two K.A.A.F. planes were aloft for five and a half hours yesterday Three more machines of the Royal Air Force, havt* left Point Cook to assist in the search, and will reach Oodnadatta to-day. NAVY LEAGUE REQUESTS WELLINGTON, April 18. The Navy League Conference Remits were presented to Sir J. Ward and Mr WRford to-day. Replying, Mr Wilford said that tlte Government was alive to the necessity for providing suitable seaplanes and flying boats in future. Approval had been given for the purchase K of a Moth plane convertible flor use over land and sea, and two Fairey seaplanes .similarly convertible, but the Government eould not afford to find the money for the creation of large aerodromes.

Sir J. Ward said that the Government did not undevalue th* importance of thM Navy, and it appreciated the good work the Navy League wa*? doing, but he dil not think it could give effect to all the deputation asked HASTINGS. April 18.

Capt. T. W. White of the H. B. Aero Club, in the Club’s D. H. Moth fl'W from Hastings to Auckland this morning in two hours forty minute, carry ing Mr Jeoffrey Field, as a passenger.
