ACQUITTED OF MURDER. (Received April 18 at 7.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 18. Joseph Lever, who was charged with he murder of his son Harold at Dunedoo (on March 4th), was acquitted. FALSE INCOME TAX RETURNS. TIMARU, April 18. Henry Abbott, builder, of Oamaru, v.as to-day at the Magistrate’s Court fined £75 and costs on each of five charges of making false income tax returns. Defendant said he had al ways furnished his returns up to time but he had no knowledge of bookkeeping, and had made up his returns t) the best of his ability.
