F. McENANEY WINS SHEFFIELD. NICHOLSON IN GOOD FORM. The postponed sports meeting of th© West Coast Rugby League was held at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon. The weather was ideal, and an in eresting programme of running and cycling events was carried out. Unfortunately th e public attendance was '•mall, there being approximately only about 400 people on the grounds, including competitors. The Blackball Pipe Band was in attendance. The races were most interesting. the finishes being close, and each event was contested by good fields. F. McEnaney won the 120 yards Sheffield off seven yards, in the splendid time of 11 4-5 seconds, but a strong breeze greatly assisted towards making the time. Nicholson won the mile and two mile cycle races, and gained third place in the half mile dash. He rode with good judgment in each start. F. Sadler also rode well, winning the Half mile, and getting second place in both the mile and two mile events. The officials conducted the meeting •in a most capable manner the President (Mr J. D. Wingham), Messrs W. Ryan, R. Harrington and S. Thomas being especially noticeable for good efforts, but they were ably assisted by numerous other officials. Messrs W. S. Clarke and G. Jones were official time keepers while the handicapping of Mr E. Perkins left nothing to be desired. The fields were capably sent away by ths official starter, M r T . Steel, whose dispatches were the subject of very favourable comment. The Secretary (Mr W. J. Larcombe) was an exceedingly busy official, and he disehapged his many duties in a business-like and courteous manner.
