On N.S.W. Coalfields. THE OWNERS’ SACKING RECORD (Received Marer 3, at 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 3. Now that the dismissal notices to the miners in the northern coalfields a,re operating, the militant minority among the men is expected to procure the withdrawal of the “safety” men from the workings. The Communists are of the opinion that they must force the coal owners’ hands by letting them see the mines go to ruin unless they make terms. The Union opinion generally, however, docs ot favour such, a step, and the central governing authority threatens to deal with any unauthorised organisations, such as Councils of Action. Measures are being taken for the welfarl of the ten thousand miners who have received the notices of dismissal.
