BOXING.
DOBSON BOYS GOING TO DENNISTON.
Dobson boxers will be on show at Denniston, when four of them meet four of the local boxers there. The chief attraction is a six tound bout between Percy Hawes (amateur feather champion of Buller) and Frank Keith (runner-up in the Wellington feather division). The remaining bouts are also six round affairs. Jock Tennent (Brunner) meets Bill Scott (Burnett's Face), and this should be a rousing rally. Tennent may mi* it too much for Scott’s liking. G. Croft (Stillwater) has Simpson, of Karamca, for his opponent, and this should be a ding-dong battle, with plenty of hefty blows given and taken. Simpson will have the ad vantage in height, but Croft -won’t mind, if he can get under. Bill Menzies (Brunner) wiL meet Les Hawes (of Tiroroa), and this should be a willing go. Spectators wi I get the worth; of their money with this fight alone. Both are strong fighters, and they will be going ofter a K.O. from the . tart. B Hie has improved since he lost to Richardson in the final at Greymouth in the chain-p-onships. Lister, of Brunner, was runner-up in the bantam-weight- at Greymouth, and fights V. Raynor (of Westport). This should also provide an interesting bout. Lister, Menzies, C.oft and Tennent are training hard for the.ir coming bouts under the care of Percy Mitchell, of Dobson, who has a number of lads of different weights open for engagements. The above programme will be held in the Volunteer Hall, Denniston, under the auspices of the Denniston-Burnett’s Face Boxing Association, on Saturday, March 2nd. commencing at 7.30 p.m.
