CYCLE ROAD RACE. WON BY SADUFR. The Greymouth Un:t?d Cycling Ciab held another of their popular road races last evening, tnt route taken being from the Suburbia Hotel to Paroa and back, a distance of abou--9| miles. A-’arge crowd gatur dnt the starting point, and remained until the riders returned. There were eight starters, and a good race resulted in F. Sadler (45 secs) being first home, followed by H. W. Wilson (45), G. Taylor (Imin) and Al. Swift (1.45), in that order. Sadler’s riding time was 25mins 28 ecs. T. Howson registered fystest time, 25mins 25secs. C. Nicholson (scr), G. Doig (2.15), M. Costello (2.30), and H. Turtill (45) also started.

BEEFTON 10 MILE ROAD RACE WON BY D. REID. A further cycle race* under the.aus- ’ pices of the Reefton Cycling Club, was held on Wednesday to Brazils and return to the \Council Chambers, a distance of 10 miles, and resul’ed in a win for D. Reid who scored his second successive win in a convincing fashion by three lengths from N. AlcMahon. who finished a length in front of R. Hewisoiit with A. Hill three lengths further back, fourth. There also competed GReiu and E. Alaindonald who both finished well back. D. Reid and A Hill wore the first men dispatched, and at Fern Flat were caught by AlcMahon and Hcwison, and this bunch sprinted for honours, Reid coming up on the inside, and with a well timed sprint won by three lengths. This young rider is showing very good promise. The platings were as follows: — D. Reid (2 min 35 sec) 1,. time 32 min 45 see. N. McAfahon (35) 2, time 30.45 3-5. R. Hewi on (5) 3, fastest time 30.39 3-5. A Hill (2.40) 4, time 32.46. R. Hewison is the winner of the fastest time medal., presented by Mr N. Lawn. The r.vxt race takes place on February 27th, for a trophy donated by Alessrs G. E. Hubbard’s cyclery. A ladies’ cycle race and a boys’ race will be held in the near future.
