Yesterday’s Prices. (Special to Argus.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 14. There were good entries at to-day’s Addington sale. Fat lambs went off satisfactorily. Beef showed a slight decline. Messrs H. Matson and Co. review the sale as follows: — Store sheep.—There was a large entry of store lambs. The demand was on the basis of last week. Crossbred and long wools sold readily, the best quality to 25/-, good 18/- to 22/-. medium 16/- to 17/6, culls from 12/-. Ewe lambs sold-readily. There was a large yarding of adult ! sheep, mostly shipped lots. The market was irregular. Fat sheep: There was a large yarding. Prices declined on last week’s rates. Best ewes sold to 35/7, medium 211/6 to 31/6, light and plain 27/6 tc 29/-, extra iprime ewes 30/- to 33/4, heavy 26/- to 27/6, medium 24/to 25/6, light and plain 18/- to 21/-. Fat lambs: There was an entry of about 2,500. The competition was good, being up to schedule rates, and it maintained an even basis. Best heavy lambs sold from 33/4 to 34/10 prime 29/- to 32/9, medium 26/- to 28/6, light and unfinished 23/6 to 25/9. Fat cattle: There was a large yarding of mixed quality, with odd lines. For prime stuff the demaud was easier by an average of 10/- per head. In the case of heavy sorts they showed up to 25/- of a drop. Extra heavy steers sold from £lB to £2l 7/6, prime £l6 15/- to £l7 5/-, handy weights £l4 10/- to £l6 15/-, medium £l3 to £l4 5/-,‘ light £lO to £l2 15/-. Extra heavy cows sold from £l4 to £l6 12/6 prime &9 10/- to £ls. medium £8 5/to £9 5/-, light £6 to £7 5/-. Extra heavy heifers sold from £l4 5/- to £l5 7/6, prime £ll 10/- to £l3 5/-, medium £9 10/6 to £lO 15/-, nondescript £7 to £8 15/-. Pigs.—Ther e was a fair yarding of pigs. Porkers met with a steady demand, with a slight increase in values. Baconers were a shade easier. Light choppers sold from 37/-, best choppers to £4 6/-, light bacon sold from 57/6 to £3 7/6. medium to £3 14/6, heavy £4 5/- to £4 19/6. The average price was 6d to 6fd per lb. Light porkers sold from 33/- to 44/-, medium 45/- to 47/6. good heavy 48/to 54/6. The average was 6sd to 7d per lb. There was a small entry of stored pigs; and competition was keener.
