CROQUET.

MAKURA CLUB. A social afternoon was held by the Makura Croquet Club last Wednesday when, despite showery weather, a most enjoyable afternoon was held by all present. A golf croquet competition and a putting competition were held. The golf croquet competition was won by Mrs Whibley, and Mrs Thomas was the winner of the putting. The usual weekly competition was also held, the scores being as follows: Mrs Tennent 10, Mrs Thomas 10, Mrs Saywdll 12, Miss Sheedy 12, Mrs Whibley 4, Mrs McQueen 4, Mrs Reynolds 8, Mrs Toploss 8, Mrs M. Phillips 8, Mrs Mercer 16, Mrs Haglund 16, Mrs A. Phillips 14, Mrs Fogarty 8. The trophies for this competition were won by Mesdames Mercer and Haglund.

The weekly competition will this week be held on Friday, instead of Wednesday, and members are asked to make every endeavour to get to the competition.
