VALUELESS CHEQUE CASE? INVERCARGILL. Feb. 11. The fraudulent obtaining of goods on an extensive scale by meujus of valueless cheques was alleged against a man and woman in Gore on Saturday afternoon, .ajid brought this morning befo<j a sitting of the Invercargill Police Court. The accused, who were set dowjt *a.s man and wife, were charged with. obtaining goods to the of £230 and £lO in cash from an Invercargill firm by falsely representing that a chi'quo for 1240, drawn by R. J. Spiers on the Bank of New South Wales, Dunedin, was a good and valid order. The 'accused wore remanded fTTi Wednesday.
