Mr L. B. Miller returned from Wellington on Saturday. i Mr ana Mrs H. W. Heslop arrived from Christchurch on Saturday. M r K. T. Tulloch, of Christchurch, who has been on holiday in Reefton, returned on Saturday. Miss Bernice Acourt. of Christchurch. who has been on a visit to Kumara, has returned, Mr J. L. Morgan arrived from Christchurch; 041 Saturday, to take part in the bowling tournament. The Mayor, Mr J. W. Greenslade, has been indisposed since last Thursday. Mr E. Wames leaves to-day for th * North Island on a visit, and will be absent for several weeks. Mr C. S. Dalgleish, Fields Instructor, Agricultural Department, left on . Saturday for Rotorua, on transfer. Mrs P. Keenan, of Tauranga, and a former resident of Kumara, who has been visiting the Coast, leaves tomorrow on her return home. Mr G. Mr P. J. MeLlean, who has been attending the Harbour Boards’ conference at Auckland, returned to Greyrj|outh on Saturday’. Mr J. Kennedy returned on Saturday from Wanganui, where he attended the annual conference of gas works’ managers. Sir Harry Lauder, the well-known Scottish comedian, who is making a h alth tour of the Dominion, is at present visiting his sister, Mrs Fred Vallance, at Rotomanu. Mr R. E. Bellamy, of Chapel Street, has been seriously ill since Friday as the result of a seizure. His condition was reported last eyeni ng tq have much improved. Captain Grace Green, of the Salvation Armty Orphanage, arrived from Hamilton on Saturday, and is the guest of her brother, Mr L. S. Green, of Blaketown. A cable from Landon mates that late Mr William Weddel (meat importer; left an 1. state valued at £182,027. • He made bequests to the Presbyterian Church, hospitals, and charities, totalling £20,000. Mr Wagstaff, accountant for the Timaru branch of Ballantyne/s - Ltd., who was injured in a motor accident while visiting the Coast, left by Saturday ’s express accompanied by Mrs Wagstaff. The funeral of the late M<s Elizabeth Carse took place yesterday, the interment being mpde at StiUwater. Th> services at Holy Trinity Ghureh -■ ’ k Greymouth) and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev D. . C. Bates. A large number of representative citid ns and other friends present was testimony of the great esteem in which the deceased lady was held by the community.
