THE WEATHER.
WELLINGTON, January 13. Dr Kidson’s report is as follows: — General situation: Anti cyclone is moving off New Zealand, and a deep depression covering the western Tasman Sea is advancing eastwards. Forecast: Winds, moderate and variable at first, but northerlies prevailing soon, and freshening to gale force at places. Seas (N.Z. waters): Seas generally smooth to moderate, but rising shortly in New Zealand waters Tasman Sea: Strong northerly winds to gales with rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather: Unsettled, cloudy and misty, with rain in districts with a westerly aspect, and later rain becomes general, with some heavy falls. Thgnder is probable at places.
