WELLINGTON, December 16. The Dominion Meteorologists evenin'? forecast is a? follows: A moderate sntj-cyelone is covering New Zealand and the eastern Tasman Sea. A depression is still situated over the south-west Tasman. Moderate southerly winds will prevail north of Cook Strait; elsewhere variable but northerlies prevailing, and later becoming general and freshening south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint. Seas generally smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Light to moderate and variable winds but northerlies prevailing soon and freshening in the eastern Tasman Sea. Generally moderate seas but rising soon ,ia the southern portion. Weather fair to fine, hut becoming cloudy soon on the West Coast of the South Island, with some showers. Mild temperatures.
