FRA’ ABERDEEN.
The new Aberdeen minister was making himself agreeable. 44 We1l my little man,” he said to the small son of a parishioner, * *l’ll give you a penny if you tell me your name. ” “All right ” said the child, “Its Angus Donald John MacTavish—and that’ll be fowerpence.” MISTAKEN. The young wife thought she would trv an old-fashioned touch. “I’m going home to mother,” she wept. “No good, old thing,” said her hubband callously, “she went back to grandmother, yesterday.” NEITHER. She aspired to become a primx donna, and sang one evening to a critic. “Tell me,” she asked, “am I a soprano or contralto?” “Madam,” he said sadly, “you are not.”
