REEFTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, December 1. Mrs Geo. Osbourne, accompanied by her daughter, left this morning on a brief visit to Christchurch. Miss M. Davis, of Levin, is at present on a visit to Reefton. The vacancy in the Motueka Licensing Committee caused through the death of Mr Robert G. Lochore, has been filled by the appointment of Mr C. F. Lynch. Mr and Mrs G. E. A. Hubbard left for Nelson yesterday morning, where the former has acquired a motor busi- ; ness in partnership with Mr Geo. S. Pascoe, also of Reefton. Mr and Mrs Geo. Pascoe and family leave to-morrow by private car for Nelson, where they will in future reside. Mr T. 11. Lee, who has been on a visit to Christchurch, has returned to Reefton. The climate during the past week in Reefton has been very mild. The showers which fell during the week are a great asset to the gardens, which are now looking at their best. The coal mines at present in Reefton are very slack, but it is reported that the Rpefton Pit will probably resume full operations next March. The business people of Reefton have ably supported the reopening of the mine and invested their capital. M r C. Peters, returned to Reefton from Greymouth last evening.
